ACA event #22 December 7th: Scanning Options, Roasting Frames & Mobile studio

This Sunday December 7th there will be another ACA event this time it is about scanning options, roasting frames & the mobile studio will be there.
There will be 2 different forms to register:

Scanning: Turning Analog Into Digital

There are several ways to scan your negatives and convert them into digital images. I’ve invited three people to give short presentations on Sunday, December 7th. After their talks, their scanning setups will be available on a table so you can take a closer look and ask any questions you have.

– Ro Antia is a photo/graphic designer who makes tools to solve their problems. They will be sharing some investigations around camera scanning and (color) negative conversion.(www.roantia.design)
– Henrique is an analog photographer and gear enthusiast that likes to tinker with different formats and processes. He’ll be showing his film scanning workflow for 35mm using the Valoi Easy 35 for camera scanning.(https://guax.net/)

– Douwe (Eindhoven, 1983) is a concept-driven maker and photographer creating images that combine graphic design influences with female portraiture. (https://www.cyanotypist.com/)

Roasting My Frame / Photo (is not mandatory to participate in the event)

Back in 2022, we ran a “review my photo” session where eight people each submitted three photos. We randomized the images in a presentation and talked through them one by one. One of the rules was that everyone had to say something positive about each photo—based on the idea that you can learn from the strengths of others’ work.
This time, we’re flipping the script. The rule is: you must point out something negative about the frame. If you’d like to take part in “Roast My Frame,” please upload two photos below.

Mobile Studio: Jascha × ACA

Our longtime ACA member Jascha will be back with his mobile studio. We’re looking for models, and we might also create two collaborative mood boards on Pinterest.
This is an open call for models and stylists to join on a TFP basis. I’ll also check if there’s a small budget available (think exit through the gift shop).
– Jascha is an analog and digital photographer that started out photographing action sports and is making his way towards portraiture as well. With his flash photography setup being mobile, he likes to introduce people to flash photography in a studio setting.(https://www.instagram.com/fullmetalcanister/)
